PEBC Exam Dates 2026 and How to Apply

The application timeline at a glance

Canadian-graduate verification, QE applications, and Part I scheduling are separate steps.

For Canadian graduates, complete the separate ID and Education Verification step before the Qualifying Examination applications. Then submit the application or applications you are eligible for in the PEBC Candidate Portal. After PEBC sends the Part I Invitation to Schedule, use Prometric for the Part I MCQ appointment.

If Canadian-graduate ID and Education Verification applies to you, complete it early. The Candidate Portal application and the Prometric appointment are separate steps.

Use these as a guide. PEBC sets new dates each cycle, so always confirm yours.

These are the application deadline and exam dates for the listed sittings. The November 2026 application deadline is August 6, 2026 at 12 p.m. Eastern Time. Confirm the current cycle on PEBC before you apply.

• November 2026 Qualifying Exam (the upcoming cohort): apply by August 6, 2026 at 12 p.m. Eastern Time. MCQ runs November 2-6, OSCE on November 7, and results are listed December 17, 2026.
• May 2026 Qualifying Exam (reference): the application deadline was February 19, 2026. MCQ ran May 19-23 and May 25-26, OSCE was May 24, and results were listed July 6, 2026.
• Canadian-graduate ID and Education Verification is a separate step from the Qualifying Examination applications. Complete it early if it applies to you.

Step 1: Complete Canadian-graduate ID and Education Verification

Canadian graduates must courier the hard-copy ID and Education Verification application plus the required certified identity documents. PEBC confirms the education information through the Candidate Portal. This is not the same as the Part I or Part II Qualifying Examination application.

The identity-document certification and courier requirements belong to verification, not to the online Qualifying Examination applications. Confirm the education information in the Portal rather than sending it with the identity-document package.

• Primary ID: a certified copy of a valid passport (ID pages), a birth certificate, or a Canadian citizenship card. Do not use a permanent residence card as primary ID.
• Required identity documents must be certified by an approved witness: a notary public, a commissioner for oaths, a lawyer, an embassy or consulate official, or a currently licensed Canadian pharmacist or pharmacy technician. The witness adds their stamp or signature and license number.
• Your name must match exactly across all documents. If your name has changed, declare it with supporting documents (for example a marriage certificate or change-of-name certificate) before the exam, or you will not be allowed to write.
• Do not send original documents you want back. PEBC does not return documents.

Do this early. You cannot register for an exam until your verification is approved.

Step 2: Apply online in the PEBC Candidate Portal

Candidates eligible for both parts use the PEBC Candidate Portal to submit two separate online applications, one for Part I (MCQ) and one for Part II (OSCE). Streamlined Pathway candidates apply for Part I first and become eligible to apply for Part II only after passing Part I. The portal is powered by Certemy, which may appear in the login flow but remains PEBC's Candidate Portal.

PEBC says no hard-copy documents are required for the Qualifying Examination applications. This is separate from Canadian-graduate ID and Education Verification, which has its own document instructions.

As of the current cycle, the Qualifying Examination fees are about $855 for Part I (MCQ) and $1,915 for Part II (OSCE). Pay the PEBC exam fees in the Candidate Portal and confirm the current fees before you apply.

Step 3: Schedule Part I with Prometric

After PEBC sends your Part I Invitation to Schedule, schedule your Part I MCQ appointment through Prometric. Prometric handles the appointment only. It does not replace the Candidate Portal application or collect the PEBC exam fee, and you do not schedule Part II OSCE through Prometric.

Use the PEBC ID issued to you for scheduling. It may be 5 or 6 digits. Once you book, you receive a 16-digit confirmation number.

There are two ways to write the MCQ: in person at a Prometric test centre, or by remote proctoring on your own computer. Test-centre seats are limited and not guaranteed, so be ready to take it remotely if needed. Remote proctoring has system requirements and a separate demo exam to check your setup.

• Schedule as soon as you get the Invitation to Schedule. Seats are capacity-limited.
• If you do not schedule by the stated deadline, you are withdrawn and your fee is forfeited.
• For international test-centre or remote appointments, the start time must fall inside PEBC's official exam window, or PEBC will cancel the appointment even if Prometric confirmed it.

Rescheduling and withdrawing

• Reschedule: you can move to a new appointment within the same exam window up to 3 days before. You cannot reschedule within 2 days of the appointment, and you cannot move to a different exam session.
• Prometric charges a rescheduling or cancellation fee if you change within 29 days of your appointment.
• Withdraw: email withdrawals@pebc.ca and cancel any Prometric appointment. A withdrawn exam does not count as an attempt, but withdrawals follow PEBC's standard refund policy.

International pharmacy graduates: extra steps first

All international pharmacy graduates complete Document Evaluation first. After that, candidates PEBC determines are eligible for the Streamlined Pathway proceed to Qualifying Examination Part I, while other candidates take the Evaluating Examination before the Qualifying Examination.

Candidates who have passed the Evaluating Examination can apply for both Part I and Part II through the PEBC Candidate Portal. Streamlined Pathway candidates proceed to Part I and become eligible to apply for Part II only after passing Part I. Earlier pathway steps and their document requirements remain separate.

Attempts and time limits

• You get 3 attempts at a PEBC examination. After three unsuccessful attempts you must complete remediation acceptable to the Board before a 4th and final attempt.
• If you fail that 4th final attempt at either part, you cannot retake the Qualifying Examination.
• Once you pass one part of the Qualifying Examination, you must pass the other part within 3 years.
• A separate 5-year limit applies to the Evaluating Examination, after which you reapply for document re-evaluation.
